Reddit could be introducing some new video features like TikTok. This project inside Reddit HQ is currently in the early stages and hasn’t entered the testing phase yet. These features that Reddit is working on include TikTok-like video editing tools making it easy for you to react to another user’s post or incorporate it into your content.
On TikTok, you can Duet, putting your video aside other users’ videos and create remixes. You probably don’t think of red as a social network with a focus on video content, and this goal is not really to make Reddit a TikTok competitor, but rather to provide their users and other ways to engage in discussions, especially if the original post is also a video.
Reddit is now reaching out to communities, to see if they are interested in this new video feature. It will take steps to begin initial testing after they receive feedback from the communities.
