Waymo testing driverless cars in San Francisco, officially the future?!

Waymo is now operating fully driverless cars in other cities As the alphabet-owned Brand has started trials of self-driving Jaguar I-Pace EVs in San Francisco, without any backup drivers. (This is a very huge safety concern, but if Alphabet is sure of this decision, it means that the self-driving technology in their cars has progressed a lot) Currently, these rights are limited only to employees at Alphabet hailing rides in the company’s early service area, but this does represent a very big milestone as it is now the first company in the world to offer autonomous ride-hailing in two different territories.

You’ll now also see an expanded footprint in Arizona, as the company said that fully autonomous rights are now coming to downtown Phoenix, starting with employees at Waymo.

We’re not sure when the company will start offering trips to the general public in San Francisco. These rollouts show the confidence Waymo has in these autonomous systems placed in the cars as they’re very willing to test their autonomous system in densely populated areas.
