Meta is adding a lot of new features to the Messenger app now. They updated the app with a lot of features, anyone who has used Slack would very easily familiarize themselves with the features. The most notable new feature is a new @everyone feature, from now when you type in @everyone, everyone in the group will get your message notification.

The company is also adding a /silent Function that will make sure your message won’t notify anyone. You could just type in /silent, and no one is going to notice your chat. These features are live on Android and iOS today.

In the upcoming weeks, Android and iOS users in the United States will be able to use a /pay shortcut to send and receive money (In chat) iOS users will get /gif, which drops gifs into the chat, they will also get /shrug and /table flip commands (¯\_(ツ)_/¯ | (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ )
