When you tag a product, it just works the same way you would if you were tagging another account, users can just add them to feed posts by tapping specific areas of their image. Products are available for businesses that have a shop on Instagram.

Although creators would use product tags on sponsored content or posts on which they are promoting businesses. Instagram also says that this feature will help people support their favorite small businesses.

With all of this happening, Instagram is also experimenting with affiliate shops, allowing a lot of creators out there to earn a commission when their followers make a purchase.
