Uber is removing the split fare option in April as they are making a better system for sharing the cost. According to a spokesperson at Uber, the company is rolling out a replacement feature within the next few months. A lot of riders in the United Kingdom received an email saying that this feature was going to be shutting down.

Uber said that they are in the process of remaking how riders split fares. Even though they know that this is a popular feature, they will temporarily remove this feature from the app next month. They also say that they will roll out a better version later.
This change will eliminate the ability to split the cost of a ride between people on the Uber app directly but It really won’t stop you from using Venmo or any other service to make things equal with your pals.
