Netflix experimenting with profile transfers to new accounts.

Netflix is now testing a very new feature allowing users to transfer a specific profile to an entirely new account on a different email ID, which will encourage a lot of streaming freeloaders to sign up for their subscriptions. According to the Netflix website, This feature will enable you to add sub-accounts for people you don’t live with, currently being tested in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru.

Netflix says that users will be able to transfer profiles to new accounts, All the subaccounts that subscribers will have to pay an additional fee for. First will allow users to retain their viewing history, My List, and recommendations when they complete the transfer to a new account. Netflix first rolled out user profiles in 2013, which served as a way to split up watch histories among friends and family members using a single account.

Last year, Netflix rolled out a test as an attempt to cut down on password sharing, which did require users to verify account ownership to gain access to their accounts. We’ll just have to wait and see what’s up.
