Creators will now be able to monetize short-form videos (YT Shorts) and sell content as NFTs. YouTube just announced new creator tools, which will expand possibilities for creators monetizing their content now. Speaking of the devil, Something we’ve been doing for a while now, Creators will also be able to sell content as NFTs or Non-Fungible-Tokens so fans can own their videos (For a certain amount of money, of course)
A lot of sources including us speculated that the platform would branch out into NFTS soon. YouTube’s CPO, Neal Mohan wrote that the expanded creator monetization tools would include selling NFTs. The blog said that Web3, a term for the next phase of the internet “opens up new opportunities for creators, We believe new technologies like blockchain and NFTs can allow creators to build deeper relationships with their fans, Together, they’ll be able to collaborate on new projects and make money in ways not previously possible.”
He also went on to say that these expanded tools will give a verifiable wait for fans to own unique videos, photos, or and even experiences from their favorite creators. YouTube did not make it clear whether NFT ownership will conflict with copyright law.
