Shocking: This Meta prototype will blow your mind.

Meta is now building a new artificial intelligence system that will allow people to build many different virtual worlds by just describing them in words. This prototype was shown at a live event where Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Meta), showed off how this technology works. They showed the proof of this concept, which was called Builder Bot. This is surely going to be Appealing to a lot of people out there and it will draw a lot more people into their metaverse virtual reality experience.

On a recorded video, the process of making the space virtually with Builder Bot was shown by Mark Zuckerberg, commands like “let’s go to the beach,” prompted the bot to create a landscape of sand and water around the two people. The video doesn’t specify whether Builder Bot draws on a limited library of human-created models or if the AI plays a role in generating the designs.

Several AI projects have image generation based on text descriptions, including OpenAI’s DALL-E, Nvidia’s GauGAN2, and VQGAN+CLIP, Dream by Wombo. These projects create 2-dimensional images without components, although some researchers are working on 3D generation.

AI generation has a lot of moderation problems as users can ask for offensive content and the AI’s training reproduces human biases and stereotypes about the world, the limits of the system are not known and that is why you won’t see the Builder Bot pop up in Meta’s social VR platform, but it does signify their visions for the future.
