More privacy features for Airtags with iOS 15.4 beta.



Apple’s latest anti-stalking features for Airtags were announced earlier this month. With the latest Beta 4 version of iOS, 15.4 now includes a warning shown to users when they first set up an Airtag. “Using this item to track people without their consent is a crime in many regions around the world,” it reads. “This item is designed to be detected by victims and to enable law enforcement to request identifying information about the owner.”

Apple also noted earlier that they have already started working with law enforcement on multiple locations through trace misused air tags back to their owners, so it’s not a very big threat, but nothing is stopping any stalker from using fake identities to set up an Airtag.

Another issue has been unknown accessory detected error message that has been confusing users as it is also caused by certain air pod models along with third-party devices, but many folks thought it meant that someone had planted in Air tag tracker on them the latest beta of this new iOS.15.4 update will be Specified that you are traveling with someone else’s Apple Airpods.

In addition, there’s no longer an option to toggle off “Item Safety Alerts.” Rather, the update now offers “Customize Find My Notifications” and “Customize Tracking Notifications” options. Some of these changes may or may not appear in the final version of iOS 15.4, due sometime next month.

Later this year, Apple will also update recent iPhone walls to add a precision tracking feature allowing people to more easily locate an unknown error-tag that could potentially be tracking them. They also plan to change unwanted tracking alerts to notify people easier and the air text sound is being also tweaked to make it sound as loud as possible with a backup iPhone visual alert.
