This is really great news for iOS users who use Google services a lot. Google One’s Premium Subscriptions normally include a VPN service that is finally available on iPhones after Google’s promise in October of 2020.
Although a Google VPN has already been available on the platform for months now (Via the Google Fi cell service) This update today also means that the people who pay for two terabytes or more of Google One storage, Will be getting a VPN for their phones for free. (Technically, that’s the least they could do)

This VPN is currently available to people in 18 countries. (Does include the US of course) other countries include the UK, Canada, and Mexico. Although people who do not use Google services already have a way to keep their Internet traffic private, That is through Apple’s private relay service, available in all of their iCloud plans.
An addition like a VPN For people using Google services on iPhones is a really good thing. Now onto the bad thing, This service won’t let you get an IP address in another country (Which is technically the whole point of it) which normally would let you unlock different shows on streaming platforms. (This feature is not available on both Google and Apple’s included plan VPNs, Although it is one of the main selling points for other VPNs)

Google does mention some included features that they added to the VPN service for Android users, Features like safe disconnect feature which shuts off the total Internet access if you are disconnected from the VPN at any point of time (This helps you make sure that your data doesn’t go somewhere unexpected) They also allow you to select certain apps which will be allowed to bypass the VPN.
