This is happening following Tim Cook being stalked by a 45-year-old woman recently after the woman reportedly broke into their home. To protect where Tim Cook does live, Apple Maps has blurred out his entire property in Palo Alto, CA. It is the same on Google Maps.

Apple was granted a restraining order on behalf of Tim Cook, And now the Apple Maps look around the feature and Google Street View feature are blurring out good Tim Cook’s home.

As part of Apple’s request for a restraining order, the court filings were required to include Cook’s full postal address. This was kind of a bad thing to do because even though people knew Tim Cook was living in Palo Alto previously, they now have access to the exact street name and number where they live.

At present, their house can still be seen from above on Google Earth and Google Maps, Although when you zoom into that area, That area is subject to the same blurring across the entire property. Apple maps have blurred it out from the overhead View as well as the look around feature on Apple Maps.

This is still a bad thing because people who didn’t even realize previously while viewing the Street View images of Palo Alto are now easily able to find the house that is blurred and easily sparking curiosity, in turn, making it a bigger target for predators out there.
