In a recent podcast interview with Ben Clymer of Hodinkee, Ed Sheeran said that he hasn’t had a cell phone since 2015. And by no cell phone, we mean totally. No cell phone. (Not even one of those old school flip phones) It is very remarkable and brilliant that people Like Ed can exist without a phone. Ed Sheeran said when Clymer asked that he used to get overwhelmed when he used to have a phone and he felt like he spent his whole life just in a very low place. And because of that, he got rid of it and it was like a veil that lifted.

The biggest question you might be asking, and I did too Is how can a person like Ed Sheeran just get rid of a phone In a world where our smartphone is an extension of our personality? That would possibly seem like a priority considering his schedule.
So Ed explained that his Strategy is that he uses email. (I know it sounds pretty old school to some people, but it’s not really) He said that he has an email and every few days he just sits down and opens his laptop and he’ll just answer 10 emails at a time. After that, he’ll just close his laptop and just go back to living life. 1The way that Ed Sheeran does not allow technology to get in the way of him living his life It’s remarkable. He said that had decided the best way to do it is to not let a smartphone become a distraction or a source of anxiety, which is a very common problem with people (Even Gen Z) nowadays.
Ed Sheeran does not use his phone because he has enough self-awareness to recognize the fact that having a smartphone always makes him feel like it was taking a toll on his mental health, and He knew that he could change it, so he did. Yes, it’s really hard for some people or maybe even you reading this article to just ditch your phone right now because most People do depend on their phones to communicate with every person in their lives. It’s also the primary work device many people used in some cases and also ditching this device would make it hard for them to just live their life.
It’s just different in Ed Sheeran’s case, and He did have the opportunity, and the lifestyle could just ditch the phone and live normally. That’s honestly the dream life and I just totally dream of having no distractions in my life, And I know you do too, but we just can’t stop, It’s the FOMO, It’s just losing out on stuff, You can make a constant effort to change that every single day getting away from your phone It’s your priority, I know it’s pretty hard but once you start doing something that you love, you will just forget about your phone and just Live.
