Epic Lost to Apple but many US states and corporations are now in support of Epic

Well, you would have heard about this new major lawsuit. So Epic games against Apple. Epic Games did lose against Apple on a court ruling But now many other U.S. states are backing it. This is good for epic.

Epic has been trying to make the case that Apple has a monopoly over iOS apps, and they asked for changes that would effectively force Apple to take smaller cuts in the transactions that go through Apple’s App Store. This would result in very much Losses for Apple. If Epic is successful in pushing Apple to accept other payment routes (The reason they were taken out of the App Store in the first place) Apple will be forced to change how the App Store operates and earns profits.

Also, right now it seems like more than half the states of the US. Microsoft and many other groups are on the epic side. All of these groups believe that Apple has a monopoly as well, so It seems like they are taking the route of siding with Epic and Are hoping to end the monopoly that Apple has over the App Store.

“Apple’s conduct has harmed and it’s harming mobile app developers and millions of citizens,” Said many of the US states. Many of the organizations have also filed many briefs. The US itself also filed an amicus brief, although it is not directly in support of any party.

We currently don’t know what will happen as many organizations are going straight up against Apple. Seems like Apple could be the one losing here, but we don’t know yet. You can just head over to this article from TheVerge that gives you the list of organizations that have filed amicus briefs. – Here.
