The Osmo Action or the Go Pro Hero 9? What’d be good for you?

So, its 2021, you’re thinking of going somewhere, with your bike, you think of recording yourself doing some dirt biking, so now you’re in the market looking for an action camera and you come across the two main players in the action camera market, DJI and GoPro.

Whilst, GoPro has been in the action camera market for years now, they were the first company to introduce the action camera’s to the market, and have learnt a lot, with all of this information they have been refining their camera’s to a point where there’s not much improvements in their new versions .

DJI however, has been leading the Drone market for a while, both firms have been the leaders in their spaces for awhile. But now DJI is slowly entering the action camera market, trying to dethrone GoPro as the leading Firm in that industry. They started out with the Osmo Pocket, the Osmo Pocket 2 , the Osmo Mobile and then brought in the Osmo Action.

The Osmo Action is the closest DJI has got with the GoPro Action Cameras in terms of the overall formfactor and on paper.

First, On Paper, the Osmo Action does look a tad bit underwhelming and the GoPro Hero 9 does steal the show with its mind boggling Specs. The Price Scheme however totally flips the way we see the cameras.

The Osmo Action is half the price of the GoPro and is really spec-ed up considering the price point. Although, some people think that 4k(on the Osmo Action) video recording is a significant downgrade from 5k(on the GoPro Hero9). Let me tell you something, pixels don’t matter when you’re recording videos. The quality of the pixels do matter.

(Fun Fact: Titanic was shot on a 2k Arri Alexa)

(Another Off- Topic Fact: With all the 4k, 8k, heck 16k sensors coming out on the market on small phones, don’t even expect those phones to even perform as nearly as good as an ARRI Cinema Camera from over 10 years ago)GoPro Hero 9$439
