Elon Musk Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Sexual Harassment and Retaliation at SpaceX

Elon Musk is facing a lawsuit filed by eight former SpaceX engineers, accusing the CEO of creating a hostile work environment through sexual harassment and retaliation. The lawsuit, reported by Bloomberg, alleges that Musk introduced sexually explicit photos, memes, and demeaning comments into the workplace, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere for women and LGBTQ+ individuals.

The engineers claim they were subjected to harassment by coworkers who imitated Musk’s behavior, leading to what they describe as a hostile work environment. They further assert that their termination from SpaceX was retaliation for participating in an open letter criticizing Musk’s conduct in 2022.

According to the filing, despite recommendations for a formal investigation by SpaceX’s HR, Musk purportedly insisted on their immediate dismissal, stating, “I don’t care — fire them.”

This legal action follows ongoing complaints filed by the same group with the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), alleging SpaceX retaliated against them unlawfully. Despite the NLRB’s agreement on retaliation, SpaceX has contested these claims in court.

Recent allegations reported earlier this week have added to the controversy, suggesting Musk’s involvement in inappropriate relationships with employees and making controversial requests in the workplace.
