Grand Theft Auto 6 has a big surprise for a lot of players out there as the game is now reflecting evolving social attitudes just as much as the updated gameplay. Rockstar’s new future open-world title will include the franchise’s First playable female lead character, the Latina woman will reportedly be part of a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo at the heart of the story.
Developers are now trying to shake up a past reputation for transphobia and won’t make jokes about marginalized groups. Rockstars’ attempt to make the game as perfect as they can be affecting the scope and release date for the game, according to many sources in the gaming industry. GTA 6 was previously reportedly meant to cover portions of North and South America but they went back to a fictional version of the Miami area [Probably Vice city] Many industry analysts do predict a release sometime between April 2023 and March 2024.
The company has also reportedly overhauled the design and management structures to reduce excessive work hours for employees, also adding team members and creating more opportunities for time off, and firing leaders who were allegedly abusive or difficult to work with. Even though insiders do describe problems with bureaucratic overhead and some frustration because of a lack of progress, many employees do seem to be happy with the reduced pressure they have on them.
There’s still enough financial breathing room for the company right now as GTA 5 and GTA Online have enjoyed a lot of success for years. The game only left the NPD Group’s top 20 yearly bestsellers in 2020 because the company stopped tracking digital sales from Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two.
