VW has managed to decrease the price of their EV, Here’s How



Volkswagen is now really taking a different path rather than other companies getting onto the trend of ever-rising EV prices, as the automaker has just revealed that the 2023 ID 4 electric SUV will start at $37,475 before the destination fee of $1295 and along with tax credits [The predecessor used to come at a $41,230 price tag]. Well, you guessed it. The trick to decreasing the price of the car is a smaller battery and that is because the base model now called the ID.4 standard uses a new 62 kWh battery that will muster an estimated 208 miles of range. Although this really won’t excite anyone who’s planning cross-country road trips or something like that, it will be sufficient enough for any person who just lives inside the city and uses a car for daily commute.

There are many technology upgrades as well, even though the battery has been shrunk. The ID 4 now comes with a 12-inch infotainment display at standard [Previously optional], 45W USB C, simpler plug and charge functionality and intelligent park assist. All 2023 models will now get driver-initiated lane changes and travel assistance as well. Users can expect a better posh interior with leather seats on these standard models as well now.

Even though the cheaper models have gotten cheaper, VW made sure to have strong incentives for people to buy higher rent configurations as the $42,495 ID 4 Pro upgrades to an 82kWh battery with an estimated 275-mile range and a 170kW DC fast charging; There are more perks like a heated windshield, a tow hitch, and a variable compartment flow. Even though the higher-end models go up to $50,195 with the ID 4 Pro S plus and AWD Pro S Plus. The star of the show is the cheaper version and it will help the company gather a lot more people to buy the car looking to get an EV.
