Twitter now has an exact start date for its trial against Elon Musk over his attempt to withdraw and back out of three $44 billion purchase offer from the social media company. The Delaware Court of Chancery Judge Kathleen McCormick has scheduled the lawsuit trial for October 17th and the courtroom showdown battle between the two parties will last 5 days wrapping up on October 21st.

There has been a very slight compromise with the timing for Twitter as the company had pressed for a four-day trial starting in September. Although the social media company shareholder vote on the takeover is slated for September 13th, Musk’s attorneys wanted to push the trial to February 2023, saying that they needed more time to collect and interpret data on Twitter’s volume of fake accounts and bots.
This new move helps out Twitter and favors the company as the social media network only has to wait for a few months for the ruling.
