Skullcandy Earbuds will now be able to support 2 AI assistants

Some earbuds made by SkullCandy will now be able to support 2 voice assistants at the same time. Last year, the brand debuted its assistant, Skull-IQ on the Grind series and push the active earbuds line-up the company made. The Skull-IQ is an AI that controls audio and manages your media player, adjusting device settings and answering or dismissing your calls. It can also launch Spotify via voice command and for just about anything other than that, you can use another system which is where Alexa comes into play.

The dual Voice Assistant feature was announced during an Alexa developer event, and it’s not clear when it will be available on Skullcandy’s earbuds. Currently, other voice-powered platforms do offer multi-assistant experiences with Alexa as well like Sonos’ Voice control and Pioneer’s NP1.

Amazon is also expanding Alexa in other ways, announcing developer tools that will enable app and device makers to create Alexa routines and suggest them to users as well. The company makes this move as a step toward realizing its vision of an ambient, more autonomous smart home that will also benefit them a lot.
