Users will now get access to more ways they can collaborate with others on Instagram Reels as part of the company’s strategy to become a better competitor to TikTok. Users can now also remix photos on Instagram which gives more material for users to use, the company has also added more remix layouts like green Screen features, Split Screen, or Picture-in-Picture reaction views. It will make it easier for users to add their spin to an existing reel. Also, you will be able to watch your remix at the end of the original Reel instead of just having them play side-by-side, this format works better for people who have hot takes.

The company is also rolling out new templates, which will make it easier for users to create the videos with preloaded audio and video effects, and they’ll simply need to just add their photo or video to the template. You can see the company’s template collection by tapping on the camera icon on the reels tab.
The company also confirmed a previous leak saying that they will be turning every video posted on Instagram into a Reel as long as they are shorter than 15 minutes. Videos under 90 seconds long will be recommended on the app and hence we’ll have a wider reach but you don’t have to worry about becoming famous if you don’t want to be as Instagram won’t be using your reels as a recommendation if your profile is set to private.
