Discord voice chats are now coming to Xbox consoles, but it’s very complicated starting today for users who enrolled in the Xbox Insider beta program will be able to test this functionality before the wider rollout comes out later this year. For every other user out there this feature will allow Discord users on Xbox, PC, and Mobile to join the same voice channel, making it a lot easier for people who play cross-platform games like Halo Infinite.
Users will first need to connect to their Xbox account with discord. If you previously already did that so that your discord contacts could see your Gamertag, you will need to do the first step again to grant the voice permissions. On your Xbox console, you’ll find the option to connect. accounts within discords user settings, and then you could just click or tap the cog icon, navigate to the Connections menu, select the Xbox icon, and then follow the on-screen prompts.

Currently, this entire process works through a series of handoffs. You will have to then download the Xbox Mobile app to be able to talk with your friends. Discord users have been waiting for the company to add this feature since it was first announced back with the Xbox integration in 2018. It will also offer a great glimpse at how Sony will plan to add voice chat to their consoles. Discord did not exactly say when this feature would be available to every Xbox user, although we do expect it to arrive sometime later this year.
