Elon Musk wants to delay the Twitter trial till 2023

Elon Musk’s lawyers now want the Twitter trial to be delayed till 2023. The Elon Musk team alleged that Twitter is pushing for an unreasonably fast trial over allegations that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO improperly ended his $44 billion bid to buy the social media platform. According to Elon Musk’s legal team, “Twitter’s sudden request for warp speed after two months of foot-dragging and obfuscation is its latest tactic to shroud the truth about spam accounts long enough to railroad defendants into closing,”

The two parties are pushing for this trial to be considered dramatically different timelines as the deal has an October 24th drop dead date and Twitter asked for a 4-day trial before September. Elon Musk’s team says this case should go to trial on February 13th, 2023.

According to Elon Musk’s lawyers, the court dispute over faults and spam accounts is fundamental to Twitter’s value, while reiterating Elon Musk’s claim that Twitter falsely represented the volume of bots on the platform. Thankfully, none of these sites will ever have to wait long to find out when the proceedings will start. As the Delaware Chancery Court Judge Kathleen McCormick scheduled a 90-minute hearing for July 19th, this session will see McCormick hear arguments for a September trial.
