Amazon is now planning to start making drone deliveries in another city later this year, according to the company. They will start contacting customers in College Station, TX to gauge their interest in receiving orders through Prime Air, the service that will deliver products using drones. Yeah, Amazon says that they are impressed by many elements of the city, like the research being conducted by Texas AM university, like work on drone tech. The population of College Station is 120,000 as of last July. So while it isn’t the biggest city out there, it does seem like the best size available for an initial rollout of a drone service, Prime Air.

According to the Mayor of College Station, Karl Mooney. “Amazon’s new facility presents a tremendous opportunity for College Station to be at the forefront of the development of drone delivery technology. We look forward to partnering with Amazon and Texas A&M and are confident that Amazon will be a productive, conscientious, and accountable participant in our community.”
This month, Amazon revealed that they would start making drone deliveries in Lockeford, California. They said they would drop packages in Customers, backyards, and thousands of products would be eligible for the program. It is also great to see this service come to life after nine years since it was first revealed.
