Twitter is not having to wait all that long to take Elon Musk to court, as the Delaware Court of Chancery chancellor Kathleen McCormick just scheduled the first hearing for Twitter’s lawsuits on July 19th at 11:00 AM ET. This 90-minute session between the two parties will have a judge hearing arguments relating to Twitter’s request for a September trial.

The social network sued Musk earlier this week after the Tesla chief killed the $44 billion deal. The executive claimed that Twitter was falsely representing the number of bots and fake accounts on their platform Trying to withhold details, making sure the acquisition went all the way through. Twitter has denied every allegation regarding the fake/ bot accounts percentage on the platform, but they did maintain that they shared the entire data pipeline and that Musk broke the terms of the agreement by backing out with unreasonable requests and insults through the company.
Currently, there is still no word of any counter lawsuit from Elon Musk’s end. Even if it doesn’t materialize, the outcome of this lawsuit will have far-reaching implications. If the court sides with Twitter on this one, it could force Elon Musk to either complete the purchase or pay the breakup costs.
