Anyone can now leave a Twitter conversation with a great new feature.

Twitter is now rolling out the conversation, leaving featured for everyone around the entire globe. Twitter users will now be able to use, the “unmentioned” feature from the service. This feature will give any user the ability to leave an unwanted conversation on the platform, and when you use the feature, it will unlink the user’s handle from the Twitter thread. So they will no longer have to be tagged in future tweets and others won’t be able to reply to them from the same thread anymore.

This one prevents a user from continuing to jump into the conversation, but it will at least shield the person’s replies and notifications. This feature has been in the works for more than a year as the company first teased the idea last summer. The company said that this feature was meant to prevent the kind of unwanted attention that often leads to harassment as they started testing it in April.

Previously, only a very small limited group of users on the web were able to Use this feature but now with this new update, anyone will be able to remove themselves from a thread regardless of whether they are using Twitter’s apps or website. This update seems to be the latest way Twitter is now allowing users who get more ways to control how people interact with them, particularly more at moments when they can be more susceptible or vulnerable to harassment.
