Snapchat now launching a new subscription service for hardcore users


Well, you probably did already know about the fact that Snapchat is now launching a new optional subscription service that offers exclusive experimental and pre-release features according to the company. This service will be available at $4 a month and it will be aimed at passionate Snapchat users and will launch this week in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

There are not a lot of exclusive features, and the available ones, are very modest as you just can change the app icon and see who we watched the story while also being able to pin a friend to the top of your chat history as a BFF. All of these features seem like very minuscule upgrades over the normal way users normally use the app.

Currently, the company mostly relies on their advertising model for revenue, so this new service is a way for them to break away from that, Although the company does make money through other different ways, like selling hardware like the Snapchat Spectacles, the Pixie Drone and more hardware.
