Meta is now adding a lot of new tools to reals as they try to keep up with their very major competitor, TikTok. Users will now be able to get a lot better editing features, longer upload limits, and the ability to push reels into Facebook Feeds as well.
Mark Zuckerberg realizes the fact that the younger audience in the Gen Z spectrum normally increasingly spends more of their time on TikTok and not any Meta owned apps which is why they are putting their heart and soul into making the Reels aspect of their social media platform as appealing as they possibly could make it for more users.
Also, Instagram is getting popular features on Reels, features that were already present within Stories including polls, emojis, and quizzes, stickers which will help boost engagement with stories over the years. With more editing tools, giving creators better flexibility in the types of videos they want to create within the Instagram app, creators will also be able to import their audio, adding sounds from videos and lower camera roll in their Reels. Instagram is also adding templates to make it easier to make videos for users who are very new to the game, and they are also expanding the limits of reals to 90 seconds set as the new maximum length.

Also, to make all of this work, Facebook will start pushing a lot more suggested reels into user feeds as reels will appear more often on Facebook, very similar to how wheels have been taken over the Instagram feed in recent months.
