Walmart has been testing a drone delivery program across the United States for a while now, in many different cities, and now the company says that they are expanding those drone offerings as they are planning to add 34 new areas to their existing drone network.

They say that nearly 4,000,000 households in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Utah, and Virginia will get access to drone deliveries from the retailer. For just nearly $4, you’ll be able to order up to 10 pounds of groceries and household items, and if you use the service, the company says that you will expect your package in approximately 30 minutes. Walmart says that they will have the capacity to deliver one millionaire packages by the end of 2022, which is a very impressive milestone, but it doesn’t really sound like the program is profitable yet, and the company also says the drone services will still be offered to local governments and businesses.
Walmart also says that their drones will help construction companies with aerial photography, adding the revenue tool to offset the cost of delivery, also serving the entire drone industry by gathering more flight data as they work together with expanding drone operations in a safe and regulated way.
