Sony has officially sold 19.3 million PlayStation 5 units, still cant get one

Sony has just announced that they sold 2 million PlayStation 5 units last quarter, bringing their overall total sales up to 19.3 million. Although it’s kind of disappointing because it’s considerably lower than the same quarter last year when they sold 3.3 million units, it’s still a very big number nevertheless.

Overall their Game and Network Services Division earned $5.1 billion This quarter, which is kind of higher than last year.

But these numbers go to show that the PS Five is falling further behind the PS4 in sales as the PS5 is still 3.1 million fewer units than the PS4. Sony did warn us that this was coming, considering the lack of sales and the inability to build enough units because of the current ongoing chip shortage.

But there’s also good news, as Sony is expecting For things to heat up quickly as they forecast a 34% increase in sales next quarter with better supply and higher sales of third party games.
