Instagram now allows fundraisers on Reels


Instagram now allows users to create and donate to fundraisers directly through Instagram Reels. Starting today, users in more than 30 countries will be able to add a link for people to donate to more than 1.5 million nonprofits.

Technically, the fundraiser tool has been available on stories and live streams for the last couple of years, but it’s never really been introduced to Instagram reels. But it’s really good that they have done it now. Also, most donations made on Instagram last year were nearly under $20. The company also covers the payment processing fees for charitable fundraisers, so every little penny just goes to nonprofits as a donation. [It’s a really good thing on Meta’s part]

Also, Meta just announced that the company is going to be adding a lot more features to the Climate Science Center, which will highlight actions that people can take in their day-to-day lives to combat climate change. Also from now on Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, Users can use stickers and profile frames to help people show their support for environmental causes.
