Polestar’s just released their most affordable EV in the US

Polestar is bringing its most affordable car model to the United States. The Polestar 2 single motor variant does not have a lot of power performance like the dual motor variant, but it will be a lot more accessible. Only the single motor version was previously available to pre-order in the United States, starting this week deliveries of this variant are beginning.

The single-motor Polestar 2 starts at $45,900, as compared to $51,200 for the dual-motor version. Polestar says the price can get down to $33,400 after qualified federal and state incentives.

The Polestar 2’s long-range single-motor model has 270 miles of driving range with a 78-kWh battery pack, 231 horsepower, and 243 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. The car also accepts 150 kWh of DC fast charging, meaning an 80 percent charge is possible in 40 minutes.

The company has only released two vehicles so far. The hybrid Coupe Polestar one and the Polestar 2. That lineup is going to be growing with the release of the Polestar 3 SUV in 2022 and the Polestar 4 Compact SUV in 2023, and the Polestar 5 sports sedan in 2024.
