DuckDuckGo just revealed a brand new desktop browser which is going to be available on Mac first and a Windows version is also coming shortly. Until now, the only browser DuckDuckGo was offered on was on mobile but that certainly seems to be changing now. As you might expect, privacy is at the forefront of this desktop browser as it uses the DuckDuckGo search engine by default, and the Smarter encryption feature will also make sure you use the encrypted HTTPS version of websites more often.

Data like Search history, bookmarks, and passwords are saved on your system by default. You can import your bookmarks and passwords from other browsers and password managers though. The company also says that this browser is going to be getting rid of a lot of cookie consent popups as well as it will clear those for you on many different websites by automatically rejecting as much cookie tracking as possible.
With their privacy feed, you’ll be also able to see which websites try to track you, and there’s also the option to clear every data stored from certain websites on your device. DuckDuckGo also says that the built-in rendering engine is very similar to Safari and blocks trackers before they even load.
