YouTube’s picture-in-picture coming on iOS devices soon.

If you haven’t gotten a YouTube picture in picture mode on your Apple device yet, you will soon. YouTube says that the picture in the picture will be available in a matter of days across all devices running iOS 15 or later. Basically, picture in picture lets you keep a floating video tab pinned to your screen while you shift your focus to other activities while also watching the video.

Cr- MacRumors

This feature has been anticipated for a long time, YouTube first said that they were rolling out PiP to Premium subscribers in June of last year [But technically it hasn’t happened yet] Although a lot of users did find workarounds like using YouTube’s mobile website on a browser when Apple enabled PiP with iOS 14 [But that feature is now gone]

Considering other competitors like Disney plus, Netflix and Twitch, YouTube is relatively late. But well, when this feature comes out, you won’t really have to confine yourself to the YouTube app to just catch up on your video queue, and will be a lot easier to use the service as a jukebox without subscribing to YouTube Music.
