Although a lot of people have returned to the office now, you still might have been working from home and you are probably a little too tired of video meetings, Zoom is injecting some life into these lifeless video meetings as The company just announced avatars that will replace your head with a 3D animated character that mimics your facial expressions. It’s Apple’s Animoji for virtual offices. There are only animals like cats, dogs, and foxes right now, but Zoom says they are bringing out a lot more avatars in the future.

To use this feature, you will need Zoom 5.10.0 or later on iOS, Mac, and Windows devices. Zoom also says that this technology does not use facial recognition. Instead, the software just looks for a face, not yours in particular.
Zoom says that these avatars will be practical in some cases as it avoids you from showing your real face on camera without removing all facial expressions. It’s also very useful for teachers and pediatric doctors who want to lift the moods of children.
