Instagram is finally letting creators appoint moderators during their live streams. This is a great way to avoid negativity & hostility in the comments section when the creator is live streaming. Moderators will have the ability to report comments, remove viewers from the live stream as well as turn off comments for any specific viewer in the live stream.
Instagram says that creators can assign a moderator by tapping the three dots in the comment bar during a live stream And then choosing the moderator from a list of suggested accounts, The creator can also use the search bar for searching a specific account they would like to appoint as the moderator.
Live streaming has been on Instagram since 2016 And it’s kind of shocking that Instagram has just now started supporting moderators for their live streams, which is a very important thing for Live streaming. Moderation has been a very needed staple on every live platform like Twitch, YouTube, where comments can get very ugly very quickly. Even Facebook gives the ability to add moderators to their streams and also add tools to remove trolls. So it’s really sad to see Instagram just taking a step for moderation now. The availability of chat moderators should hopefully make the streaming experience a lot more pleasant for creators.
