Face ID Dual-Hole Design to Be Limited to iPhone 14 Pro Models in 2022, But Expanding to All iPhones in 2023. According to many sources out there, Apple is now planning to replace the notch on some of the iPhone 14 models that are going to be launching this year with the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max going to be gaining a design featuring a pill-shaped cutout housing the Face ID elements and selfie camera hole.
Although we have heard of this rumor a lot of times before, It’s starting to show that this could potentially be A reality very soon. The pill-shaped face ID cut-out and the camera cut-out combination take up just as much space as the notch.
The pill-shaped cut-out and the holes might get smaller in 2023 than they are right now, and display space will get freed up. Also, according to many industry insiders, Apple does have plans to replace Face ID with under panel Face ID that won’t need a cutout for the needed hardware, this tech won’t be ready for the 2023 iPhone launch So we will have to wait for it to come.
Also under panel face ID won’t meet the timing for 2023 mass production and part of this can potentially be related to coordination between the display and sensor teams. So we just look forward to seeing that technology come in the litter iPhone models.
