Google has made it easier for you to send yourself files, hassle free google

You know it’s really hard for you sometimes send yourself files from one device to another? Well, Google recently released a feature allowing users to quickly send data two any person nearby with a Chromebook or Android device.

The first feature as you know is called a nearby share. It appears right now. The fact that developers are working on updating that feature so you can easily send data across your own devices.

Well, nearby share came to Chrome OS devices in June. It does compete with similar technologies like Apple’s AirDrop feature. A while back, a Chrome OS-focused blog spotted an “add feature flag” in the Chromium Gerrit Referencing an addition to Nearby Share called a Self share. The flag reads, “ This feature enables seamless sharing between a user’s own devices”

Self-share allows you to send data to yourself without the use of email or third party Cloud Drives, What I do normally is send myself an email Which is not the best way to do it but is nearest to the most seamless way I can do it.

Well anyways, as noted by Chrome Unboxed, Self share will still go through the Chrome OS Canary developer flag stage before regular Chrome OS users will see it on their devices. You can access this menu option to send to your devices under nearby share on the Chrome OS share sheet.

This new feature will very much boost interoperability and seamlessness between many different Google-based devices and also be good for people who need it. Thing is, it’s straight out mostly available only to Google devices like the way AirDrop is exclusive to Apple.
