Yeah, we’re talking about YouTube and you probably guessed that with the title, and I don’t know why I had to make this sound like a featured film even though you’re just reading an article.

Well anyways, This platform that we always use. We normally use it to see creators making content for us. But sometimes we also see some shows or maybe even movies in it, Right? Well, if you like watching shows on YouTube, you probably have heard of YouTube Originals, original content like scripted videos, educational videos, music, or even celebrity stuff.

Well, YouTube is going to scale back a significant portion of YouTube originals, they will only fund originals in the YouTube Kids fund and the Black Voices Fund, a program created in 2020 that committed USD 100 million to Amplify Black creators on the platform.

CBO of YouTube, Robert Kyncl Announced on Twitter. “With rapid growth comes new opportunities and now our investments can make a greater impact on even more creators when applied towards other initiatives, like our Creator Shorts Fund, Black Voices Fund, and Live Shopping programming to name a few”

YouTube Originals has changed approaches throughout the years that it has existed. They previously used to go for Ad-supported content featuring celebrities like Katy Perry and Kevin Hart. They used to do it for free, accessible to users without subscriptions.

YouTube Really made some great titles that looked like great hits. These hits were really great and even I personally liked many YouTube original videos. This statement from Robert, Coming with the fact that Suzanne Daniels will deport YouTube in March also contributed to the decision to scale back this division. New original videos were being announced as recently as last year, These original videos feature Will Smith and Alicia Keys, and many more. youtube still says that they will honor existing commitments for shows in progress and will contact creators and more people in the coming days. Well, this kind of makes me sad, but change is change and We can do nothing about it. Really hope they did bring it back.
