At this point, we already know what iPhones we expect. Apple always plays it safe. And that is why we know that there’s going to be a mostly similar-looking device that they reveal every year. All these devices have little differences, and some extra power under the hood but externally it’s just the same. But there are caveats to every device. If you want the cheapest, lowest specced, smallest form factor device, you could go with the iPhone 13 Mini. But if you want to get the top-of-the-line device, the best offering at this current time, you could just go with the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
So that is it. This is the review of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. So just as I already said, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the best top-of-the-line device that they have to offer right now. It’s got the best cameras of any iPhone ever. It’s got the biggest battery ever in an iPhone and yeah, it’s got a 120 Hertz refresh rate display too.
The thing that makes it Pro is its incredible battery life, a nice camera system, and its available in a range of classy colors. This device is on the leaderboard of the world’s best devices at this time.
It now also appears with a 1TB storage option too which is plenty of storage to fill up with apps and games, photography, and video. It although has a huge price tag, starting at $1,099 / £1,049 / AU$1,849 and going all the way up to $1,599 / £1,549 / AU$2,719.
This is easily the best iPhone Apple has ever made, that being said, the design is very identical to that of the 12 Pro Max that appeared in 2020, with the flat, industrial-looking stainless steel frame surrounding the massive OLED screen.
The large camera protrusion at the rear is noticeably larger and sticks out of the body a lot more than the old 12 Pro Max. The new Pro comes in a fetching Sierra Blue too this year, which is a nice-looking color and is the hero color this year, you know the one that mostly goes on the ads and billboards.
The screen has improved to include a 120Hz refresh rate, called ProMotion, and also higher maximum brightness with a smaller notch. The shrinking of the notch is a reasonable change, but not game-changing – Apple needs to get rid of it. However, the overall screen quality is stunning, whatever you’re looking at. Although, the key thing you’d buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max for, in our opinion, is its battery life.
Apple still doesn’t bundle its higher-power iPhone charger in the box for the “Environment”, though, so you’ll need to pay $19 / £19 / AU$29 for that rapid power flow.
The cameras, as we’ve alluded to, enable you to take a huge variety of snaps in a wider range of scenarios than ever. Apple has made a big deal about adding improved low-light capability and Night Mode to all of the three 12MP sensors on the rear, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max also comes with a nifty macro photography mode which is neat.

This means the handset will automatically shift to the ultrawide camera when you get close to objects, and the effects are stellar.
Apple has balanced an impressive amount of power with ease of use, so you can take great snaps in auto mode, but you’re also easily able to play around with various settings for a more hands-on experience, that’s kinda the Samsung way, and they know they’ll have to embrace it.

However, we’re not taken with the new Cinematic mode, which will automatically shift focus depending on where people are looking – it’s cool, but it doesn’t add much.
Finally, another reason to save up and buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max is its performance – it’s ridiculously powerful, and can play games to a high graphical standard and perform intensive tasks like encoding video at a pretty nifty rate.
Most people buying this phone will never scratch the surface of what it can truly do, but videographers will appreciate the increased storage, the number of shooting options, and the speed at which it can process edits.

That being said. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is a great option to consider and is the best device if you have the financial stability to own a device like that, it is a great bang for the buck in Flagship terms of course, and as it is almost similarly priced to the Samsung Galaxy S21 (soon to come S22 too)
If you do got the financing available for a flagship phone right now, I’d recommend you get to that Apple store and get one now!
