Huawei’s Harmony

Due to all of the China and US disagreement, Huawei was banned/barred from using Android as an Operating System in their phones.

In case you didn’t know. Android as an Operating System is owned by Google, based in America. It also comprises of more than 80% market share in the Smartphone Industry. All phone brands bring out their phones with Android built in, except for iPhones of course.

Brands are allowed to take the Android OS(The Latest One) and change it to their liking or not at all. They have to pay a fee for using it after the embargo of the product ends. This is the way it works.

Now, due to the US, China thing, Google banned Huawei from using Android. But, you know the whole world uses Android(Atleast most of it) and without the Google Services (like, YouTube, G Drive, etc.) (which are normally inbuilt into Android) their devices would be trash/not acceptable by the consumers in the global market.

In China, Google Services aren’t a thing. So, Huawei came out with their in-house Harmony OS and it doesn’t have any Google Services. Which are a vital in every market outside of China.

Huawei’s Harmony OS isn’t a real deal breaker. It’s just the standard Android feel on the UI and isn’t equipped with any Google Services.

The Firm makes it possible for people to buy their devices outside of China but nobody wants them. Google Services are a huge deal, a really huge deal, we don’t even realise it, we’re taking it for granted.

Overall, you can get Huawei Devices imported if you’re in the US, but I don’t think that it’s worth it. If you’re not from the US, you can get yourself a device from the Official Site, delivered at your doorsteps. But it’s not worth it.
