About Hasselblad.

Hasselblad was founded by Fritz Viktor Hasselblad. It is a premium medium format manufacturer. Other than the cost of the actual sensor itself, there are also addition cost of having a higher quality optics required for such a sensor.

Hasselblad’s factory is located in Gothenburg – Sweden’s second largest city. The company has operated in Gothenburg since 1841, but it only became a camera manufacturer in 1941. These cameras by Hasselblad are made by-hand and are one of the major reasons of the high price tag. These cameras are really premium and very easy to handle for the pros. These cameras are kind of like the Rolls Royce of the Camera world. Even the RED and Arri Cameras are a step lower than the Legendary Hasselblad.

In 2017, Hasselblad was acquired by DJI. Not in the real owners kind of way but DJI had taken the majority of Hasselblad shares, which made the firm partial owners of the latter. The Firm has stuck around for a while, they do make some pretty hefty and great cameras. Yeah they’ve been here for sometime and they’ve learnt a lot.

About the H6D.

Hasselblad does make a lot of expensive cameras but this one is the most expensive they’ve ever gotten. This monstrosity costs nearly $30k-$40k and nearly 3 million Indian Rupees. This is one of the most expensive (working) camera‘s in the world.

Bringing well-rounded shooting capabilities to the medium format realm, the Hasselblad H6D-100c revolves around an impressive 100MP 53.4 x 40mm CMOS sensor to produce high-resolution stills as well as UHD 4K video.
