Microsoft and Discord want to make it simpler for Xbox console users to join a voice channel. If you frequently use Discord, you might be aware that the companies just introduced support for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Discord began rolling out the capability to all Xbox users in September after conducting a pilot test in July. Unfortunately, the integration isn’t as simple as one might anticipate in its current incarnation; starting a voice chat needs transferring data, which calls for the Xbox mobile app.
Microsoft declared that as part of a beta version that Xbox Insiders can access right now, the requirement for using a phone to participate in Discord voice chats would be eliminated. A server browser has been added by the new software, enabling you to join a voice channel right from your console. The upgrade makes what was previously a convoluted process simpler, however you’ll still need your phone nearby if you want to call a specific friend over Discord. Although the feature is presently in beta, Microsoft will most likely make it available to every Xbox user at some point in the next weeks.
