A Chromebook was created by Framework, a business leading the way in a new era of modular, repairable products. It collaborated with Google to create a ChromeOS-compatible rendition of the standard Framework machine that kept its modularity and repairability promises.
The Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition has a 256GB SSD, a 12th-generation Core i5-1240, 8GB RAM, and a 3:2 2,256 x 1,504 display on the inside. Although you are free to increase those parts on your own at a later time, you can get up to 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD. As before, you can customise the machine’s specifications to include USB-C, USB-A, MicroSD, HDMI, DisplayPort, and Ethernet. Additionally, if you want to increase storage capacity beyond the SSD, you may purchase specialised storage expansion cards, blanked-out port modules that can accommodate an extra 250GB or 1TB of solid-state storage.
The Titan C security chip that is built into the chassis of this model is really the only significant modification. As of right now, it’s unclear whether it will significantly affect your ability to swap out the mainboard when it’s time to upgrade. Pre-orders for the Framework Laptop Chromebook Edition may be made starting today in the US and Canada, with the base model costing $999. In order to reserve their spot in the shipment line, potential customers must submit a $100 refundable deposit. They can expect their cargo in late November or early December.
