LG’s latest monitor is bonkers

At IFA Berlin this year, LG announced its future premium monitors, one of which is a 45-inch curved display that was created expressly for more immersive gaming experiences. The model (45GR95QE), according to the manufacturer, is both its first OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate and its first curved display under the UltraGear brand of gaming monitors. It has a WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution, a 21:9 aspect ratio for an ultrawide vision, and it supports HDR10 and HDMI 2.1.

The aspect ratio, borderless design, and 800R curvature of the monitor are intended to give players the impression that they are fully immersed in the game they are playing. To further reduce the sense that you are watching a game on a screen, LG even coated the screen with an anti-glare and low-reflection layer. If all of this sounds similar, it’s because Corsair has recently introduced the Xeneon Flex, a 45-inch 1440p gaming monitor that was created in collaboration with LG. However, that one has a bendable design that can change from straight to 800R in curvature, unlike this UltraGear type.

LG has shown off the UltraFine Panel Ergo AI in addition to its impending 45-inch curved display at IFA. A built-in camera on the 31.5-inch display tracks the user’s eye level and automatically adjusts the display’s height and tilt so that the user doesn’t stay in one position for an extended amount of time. Sadly, LG withheld information regarding the cost and availability of the displays, so those who are interested will simply have to wait for more details.
